Profile: Chiz Escudero

Francis Joseph "Chiz" Guevara Escudero was born on the 10th day of October year 1969. He is a current member of the Philippine Senate elected last year 2007.

Escudero previously was the congressman of the first district of Sorsogon and the Minority Floor Leader of the 13th Congress of the Philippines on his third and last House term. He is also the Secretary General of the United Opposition, and a member of the Nationalist People's Coalition.

Escudero is married to the former Christine Elizabeth R. Flores who is a singer and stage actress. They have two fraternal twin children, born on the 7th day of September.

Escudero studied at the University of the Philippines Integrated School during his Elementary and Secondary Education. He graduated at University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City earning Bachelor's Degree in Political Science in 1988 and at the University of the Philippines College of Law earning Bachelors of Laws in 1993. He had his Masters in International and Comparative Law at the Georgetown University Law Center in Washington D. C. in 1996.

He began his political career at the age of 28 in 1998 as the representative of the 1st District Sorsogon for the 11th Congress of the Philippines. He was elected Assistant Majority Floor Leader of the 11th Congress from June 1998 to November 2000 and became Second Deputy Majority Floor Leader of the 11th Congress in November 2000 to January 2001. He was Assistant Deputy Majority of the 11th Congress from January to June 2001.

On January 30, 2007, Escudero run as a Philippine senatorial candidate. He was elected with the second highest tally of votes, slightly behind Loren Legarda. At present, he has already filed 224 bills and resolutions of significance in the Senate since assuming office.

Profile: Eddie Villanueva

Eduardo "Bro. Eddie" Villanueva was born on the 6th day of October year 1946. He is a the founder and leader of Jesus Is Lord Church, a worldwide religious movement, and the leader of Bangon Bagong Pilipinas, a political party in the Philippines. In 2004, he was a presidential candidate in the Philippine election. He lost the election said election. But still, his passion to lead this nation did not fade. On August 21, 2009, he announced that he will be running in the 2010 presidential election.

He is the owner and chairman of ZOE Broadcasting Network, a commercial TV station currently operated by GMA Network through Quality TeleVision (QTV). He is also the owner and president of Jesus Is Lord Colleges Foundation Inc. (JILCF), a Christian school in Bocaue, Bulacan.

Brother Eduardo "Eddie" Villanueva is married to Adoracion "Dory" Villanueva and they have four children. Eduardo "Jon-Jon" Villanueva, Jr., was his eldest son who is the present mayor of Bocaue, Bulacan. His daughter, Joni Villanueva, is a Christian singer and TV host. His other son, Joel Villanueva is a representative of the CIBAC party list at the House of the Representatives, and Jovi Villanueva, leader of the Kristiyanong Kabataan para sa Bayan Movement.

Villanueva graduated with a degree in commerce, majoring in economics in 1969 from the Philippine College of Commerce (PCC), which is presently the Polytechnic University of the Philippines.

He worked as a full-time faculty member in the Economics and Finance Department of PCC until 1972. He then worked as the export manager of Maran Export Industries in 1973 and from 1976 to 1977, he was the general manager of the Agape Trading Co. He returned to PCC, now renamed, in 1978 as a part-time professor.

In 1978, Villanueva founded the Jesus is Lord Fellowship (presently the Jesus is Lord Church) which started with just eight members. Now, the JIL church has vast number of members with branches around the world.

Brother Eddie received the Gintong Ama (Golden Father) award for Socio-Civic/Religious Sector from the Golden Mother and Father Foundation in June 1996. In February 2001, Brother Eddie received the EDSA People Power Freedom Award for ZOE TV 11 for its fair coverage of the People Power II movement.

Profile: Noynoy Aquino

Benigno Simeon "Noynoy" Cojuangco Aquino III was born on the 8th day of February year 1960. He is a Senator of the Philippines who proclaimed presidential candidacy of the Liberal Party for the 2010 Philippine election. He is the only son of former President Corazon Aquino and Senator Benigno Aquino, Jr.

He is a graduate of Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics at Ateneo de Manila University. In 1998, he was elected to the House of Representatives as Representative of the 2nd district of Tarlac province in the 11th Congress of the Philippines; he was reelected twice, eventually becoming Deputy Speaker. In 2007, he was elected to the Senate of the 14th Congress of the Philippines.

In House of Representatives, he won re-election in 2001 and 2004, and served until 2007. Aquino worked on various committees as a member of Congress. Aquino also became Deputy Speaker from November 8, 2004 to February 21, 2006. On May 14, 2007, He was elected Senator of the country.

After the death of President Corazon Aquino, his supporters call for him to run for higher office which is the Presidential Seat of the country. After a retreat, he has decided to run as a candidate for Presidency at the 2010 elections.
